Penn State Abington welcomes the community to two free events, a concert highlighting Cuban music and a workshop on preventing human trafficking, during the last week of March. The human trafficking prevention workshop on March 25 and La Luz del Son's powerhouse performance on March 26 are open to the public.
Penn State Abington presents an evening with local author Wendy Horwitz, who will discuss her new book "Milkweed and Honey Cake: A Memoir in Ritual Moments" on March 18.
As Black History Month continues, there are still many events available during the second half of February at Penn State campuses across the commonwealth. Several Zoom and online events at University Park are open to all campus communities.

Barbara and Sam Evans, class of 1971, were both in their first semester at Penn State Abington, then known as the Ogontz campus, when they met by chance outside of the Sutherland Building. Recently, a bench outside of the building was dedicated to the pair.

From mid-September through the end of October, Penn State units at campuses across the commonwealth will be holding events in honor of National Hispanic Heritage Month, celebrated Sept. 15 to Oct. 15. This year's overall theme is "Nuestra Comunidad Latina: Celebrating a Thriving Community."
